STS SCHOLARSHIP
STS Scholarship is one of the best scholarship for the MBBS / BDS Students. Prof. Balram Bhargava, Director General, Indian Council of Medical Research and Secretary, Department of Health Research, launched the STS scholarship (short-term Scholarship) to provide the undergraduate medical students with their research projects. It was first initiated in 1979 to allow medical students with the research methods and techniques. The scheme is mainly for the MBBS, and BDS students, which rewards the deserving and eligible students from MCI/DCI recognized medical or dental colleges. There are more than 1500 students who are provided scholarships each year.
An amount of Rs 10000 per month is given to the students as a scholarship to apply for professional courses in various colleges of India. The goal of this Scholarship is to make great doctors and allow the students to pursue research as a career in the future. In the last 37 years, many medical students have been benefited from this scholarship scheme, and the credit goes to the ICMR for helping various students to build their future in Medical Science and producing great doctors for the country.
