Eligibility Criteria for Indian Navy Sports Quota Recruitment 2016 – Sailors (Male)

Post-wise Educational Qualification :
(1) Direct Entry  Petty Officer – 12th in any stream with sports position 6th at National/Senior level or 4th position at State/youth level.

(2) Senior Secondary Recruitment (SSR) – 10+2 in any stream and should have                 International/National/State level Participated certificate or 5th position in NCC/SCC Nationals.

(3) Matric Recruits (MR) for Cooks or Stewards – 10th or its Equivalent with 5th position in national/state level tournament.

(4) Non Matric Recruits (NMR) for  Sanitary Hygienist – 6th Standard pass with having attended National/State level tournament or get 5th position NCC/ SCC Nationals.

Age Limit & Relaxation :
Candidates Age must be less than 21 Years (22 Years for the post of Direct Entry  Petty Officer). The upper Age Limit will be relaxed for Reserved Category as per Government norms.

Salary Scale & Allowances :
During the initial training period, stipend of Rs. 5,700/- per month will be admissible but on successful completion of initial training an amount equal to the minimum of scale as mentioned below, less stipend already paid, shall be admissible with retrospective effect. On completion of initial training, they will be placed in the Pay Band Rs. 5,200 – 20,200/-. In addition they will be paid Grade Pay @ Rs.2,000/- plus MSP @ Rs. 2,000/- plus DA & All other Allowances applicable as per Government rules.

Selection Process :
Deserving candidates would be called to appear for trials at designated Naval Centers. The candidates qualifying trials will undergo medical examination at INS Hamla, Mumbai. The offer of enrolment will be forwarded to the selected candidates only, which will be strictly determined by requirement in particular sports disciplines and availability of vacancies.
