Alipurduar University is located in Jalpaiguri city in the West Bengal state of India. It was established in the year 1957, and it has been affiliated with the University of North Bengal. In 2018, the West Bengal state government approved the decision to upgrade the Alipurduar College as a full-fledged university, and finally, Alipurduar University was formed under the Act of the West Bengal legislature. It became active with the appointment of the first vice-chancellor, Mahendra Nath Roy, in 2020. The Alipurduar University Jalpaiguri provides 32 courses under 4 streams Arts, Science, Commerce and Banking, Hotel Management. The Alipurduar university campus is spread over 86288 Acres.
